high on a summer buzz!

The boys are feeling "light-headed" from their summer-time buzzes. (Haircut buzzes, that is.) It all started at lunchtime yesterday (the last day of school.) I brought the boys in for lunch and told them it was time to buzz off their hot, shaggy hair. Our cute neighbor, J came over to play but Kyler said (Kyler hates haircuts, so imagine the saddest, mope-iest voice as you read this part,) "I can't play, I'm getting a buzz." Fifteen minutes later, our buzzes were done and the doorbell rang. It was J. He was back, sporting his new buzz. Pull out the Slip and Slides and stock up on Otter Pops, folks. Summer is officially here. (Help!)

(I accidentally linked this post from last week to I heart faces. If you wanted to see the post for Friday, June 5, please go here. I'm SO sorry - I'm obviously a newbie.) Thanks to Jami, I found a fun new way to spend my Friday afternoons. The blog geniuses at this website sponsor a weekly challenge called "Fix it Fridays" where they give an original photo and challenge you to "fix" or edit it. What fun! This is my attempt. Question: If you took a group of boys to a lakeside with nothing but a shore full of rocks, how long would it take for them to grow bored? Answer: They would never grow bored. They may eventually run out of rocks, but they would never grow bored.

geocache!

Have you ever done it? It is so much fun! Yesterday we went geocaching. To join the fun, you get coordinates for a cache here. Then, using a GPS device and the clues given on the website, you try to find the cache. We had just about given up on finding this one when Kenyon sniffed it out. How exciting! Inside the treasure are some fun surprises that you are welcome to take, as long as you leave something fun in exchange. Also inside, we found a camera! We took our picture with it and put it back in the container for the next person. When all the pictures have been taken, the host of the cache will post the pictures online. Isn't that so cool!? This summer our family is going to create a geocache and hide it in the mountains. I'll post coordinates when we get it done. How fun!

my dirty laundry

Finished the laundry today... I washed 61 shirts, 19 pairs of shorts, 23 pairs of pants, 35 pairs of underwear, 18 towels, 47 pairs of socks, and 6 single socks that apparently don't have matches. SHEESH. How can 6 people POSSIBLY wear that many clothes in 7 days!?

So we did a re-do on the photo shoot and I don't know how L is going to feel, but I believe these are gorgeous. (And it has nothing to do with my photography!)

My adorable, genius neighbor is graduating, top of her class, and we wanted to capture some pictures. Unfortunately I was late for the photo shoot and we only had a few short minutes of daylight left. But these, I think, are beautiful. What do you think, L?
