question and answer

Question: If you took a group of boys to a lakeside with nothing but a shore full of rocks, how long would it take for them to grow bored? Answer: They would never grow bored. They may eventually run out of rocks, but they would never grow bored.

geocache!

Have you ever done it? It is so much fun! Yesterday we went geocaching. To join the fun, you get coordinates for a cache here. Then, using a GPS device and the clues given on the website, you try to find the cache. We had just about given up on finding this one when Kenyon sniffed it out. How exciting! Inside the treasure are some fun surprises that you are welcome to take, as long as you leave something fun in exchange. Also inside, we found a camera! We took our picture with it and put it back in the container for the next person. When all the pictures have been taken, the host of the cache will post the pictures online. Isn't that so cool!? This summer our family is going to create a geocache and hide it in the mountains. I'll post coordinates when we get it done. How fun!

my dirty laundry

Finished the laundry today... I washed 61 shirts, 19 pairs of shorts, 23 pairs of pants, 35 pairs of underwear, 18 towels, 47 pairs of socks, and 6 single socks that apparently don't have matches. SHEESH. How can 6 people POSSIBLY wear that many clothes in 7 days!?

re-takes

So we did a re-do on the photo shoot and I don't know how L is going to feel, but I believe these are gorgeous. (And it has nothing to do with my photography!)

senior portrait

My adorable, genius neighbor is graduating, top of her class, and we wanted to capture some pictures. Unfortunately I was late for the photo shoot and we only had a few short minutes of daylight left. But these, I think, are beautiful. What do you think, L?

window well wonders

Ever been awakened in the middle of the night by a child standing over you? There's just nothing quite like it. Kenyon came into our bedroom in the middle of the night last night, saying that something was trying to get into his window. He thought it was a bird or a mouse. We knew there wasn't much we could do or see at 1am, so we told him to sleep on the couch. This morning, THIS is what we found in his window well!!Lovely, isn't it? A mink!! I tried to snap some pictures but every time he moved I freaked out and ran away, so Kent (my hero!) bravely captured these. (Sorry about the messy window well...)
We called animal control and when the officer arrived, I felt safe enough to stand behind the camera once again. The officer said she'd never been on a call to capture a mink before...
...so a brave police officer (my other hero!) crawled down the window well to capture it for her.
What team work!
And there he is in his nice little Pet Porter. Sorry the picture is out of focus, but if you could have smelled him, you wouldn't have been able to hold the camera steady either! P.U!!! Apparently mink spray a stinky musk when threatened. That poor police officer...he'll be stinking for days! What an eventful morning. You just never know what a new day will bring...especially around here!

perspective

We were driving in the car today and Kolby said, "Mom! Look at all those cute flowers!" So I had to pull over and take his picture among the 'cute flowers.'
(I guess it's all in your perspective.)
Kolby and I did our part to share the love.
Hope you take some time to stop and smell the {cute} flowers today.
